The Parlor: Normal Chess

The Normal Chess event replaces your hero class with the White King, thus you aren’t able to choose a deck. Instead, you are given random cards based on the chess pieces for this particular encounter. This is a very unique encounter in the Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan adventure.

The Black King’s Hero power is Cheat: Destroy the left-most enemy minion. Try to have White Pawns to the left-most to avoid getting important cards killed right off.

At the end of your turn, all your cards deal damage to the enemy cards in the opposite side. Depending how you position your cards, a card can attack two enemy cards.

These are the cards you get (to the left), and the cards the Black King plays (to the right):

White RookBlack Rook
White BishopBlack Bishop
White QueenBlack Queen

The Reward for winning the Normal Chess are the Ivory Knight and Protect the King!.

Normal Magic Mirror | Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan

Magic Mirror is the second boss in the Parlor wing. His hero power allows him to duplicate minions you summon and those he summons. If you play as a Mage, in addition to Deathrattle minions, you should add Flamewaker, Knife Juggler, Chrommagus and Sorcerer Apprentice are good choices to get duplicated by his hero power.

Paladin decks can easily take this boss, especially with Chrommagus and a bunch of deathrattle minions in the mix.

Location: The Parlor
Passive Hero Power: Whenever a minion is played, summon a 1/1 copy of it.

Normal Silverware Golem | Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan

Silverware Golem is the first boss in the Parlor in the One Night in Karazhan adventure. The key to beating him is to deal immediately with Cup and Knife (5/1). Destroying Knife removes the Taunt from its minions. The ideal class to fight him is Mage.

Due to most of its minions being 1 health, you can use spells that clear the board: Arcane Explosion, Arcane Missiles, Cone of Cold.

Very helpful to add Flamewaker and Doomsayer to your deck.

Location: The Parlor (Second Wing)
Hero Power: Be Our Guest – Summon a 1/1 Plate

Blizzplanet Coverage – Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan Launch Party

Blizzplanet correspondent Dperschonok accepted the invitation to Blizzard Entertainment’s spectacular Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan Launch Party this past August 5th. He was welcomed by Moroes who kindly gave him a tour through the Banquet Hall to enjoy the best delicacies and exotic drinks of the kingdom.

Slowly crawling in fear of what he might find in the grim halls of Karazhan, Danny found other fellow adventurers in his quest to explore the tower: @AffinityUS and @Phaerixia. To his delight, as he climbed the tower to reach the Opera Hall, there was a theatrical program with actors playing Romulos and Julianne. With such a smile drawn on his face, I doubt Danny will ever forget the amazing experience put together by the awesome Hearthstone community team.

In the Grand Ballroom, a talented night elf dancer taught the invitees some exotic moves to roll at the beat of the Disco music, and an ogre stole the show with its belly dance. Check out our brief video clips of the event; and the livestream VOD.

Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan is available on August 11, 2016. Pull a chair, and enjoy the adventure.

Hearthstone: One Night in Karazhan

Karazhan, long a potent nexus of arcane energies, is about to become the focal point of a very different kind of cosmic force. The wizard Medivh has used every bit of magic at his disposal to set up the most lavish and extravagant party of all time, and your name is on the guest list alongside the crème de la crème of Azeroth and beyond! With such an eclectic mix of attendees, it’s guaranteed that this party will be out of this world.

But as you groove to the music and let the sights dazzle you, beware; one night in Karazhan, and even tough guys tumble. Keep your decks straight, your wits sharp, and above all, stay alive!

  • New Cards: Make your way through four wings chock-full of challenging bosses, unexpected twists, and mystical mayhem. Beat the bosses and earn their brand-new cards for your collection!

  • Legendary: Get ready for truly dazzling legendary cards such as Moroes and many more!

  • Class Challenges: As the evening progresses, you will unlock nine all-new class challenges that test your skills in surprising new ways. Succeed, and unlock their rewards!

  • New Game Board: When an archmage throws a party, nothing but the best will do. Prepare to be spellbound by the magic of Karazhan!

  • Never a dull moment: Your host may be a Guardian of Tirisfal, a vastly powerful magic user, and a fantastic dancer, but nobody’s perfect. Some matters may transpire over the course of the evening that might require your… special attention. Come prepared!

  • Portals Everywhere: This party is so intense, it’s warping the very fabric of space and time to bring in more guests! Use the new portal spell cards to unleash the magic and summon random minions to the field.

2016 ChinaJoy – Upcoming Hearthstone Karazhan Adventure Theorycrafting

2016-hearthstone-expansion-invitationWill it be Karazhan? Maybe. Maybe Not. Only time will tell. And now… on with the show!

Blizzard Entertainment will announce the newest Hearthstone adventure pack on July 29 at 2am EDT (New York City). As mentioned earlier, the invitation’s graphical motifs (the feather, the cocktail glasses, the stars, the musical notes) strongly suggest a Karazhan adventure.

1. Medivh’s shoulderpads have feathers and he can transform into a crow.
2. The cocktail glasses can be found in the Banquet Hall in Karazhan (By Moroes).
3. The music notes, represented in the Opera Hall’s organ piano.
4. The stars … maybe they are decorative, but there is a sky-telescope in upper Karazhan (by The Celestial Watch — Netherspite boss) and the top of Karazhan (Netherspace) is a window into the Twisting Nether.

All four elements mentioned above are found in the Hearthstone invitation that Blizzard Entertainment sent out to livestreamers, and represented in different boss encounters of Karazhan.

Theorycrafting

The Hearthstone Team has released two types of content so far since launch: Expansion packs and Adventure Packs. Blizzard has released three Adventure packs thus far: Naxxramas, Blackrock Mountain and The League of Explorers.

League of Explorers was kinda unique in that the previous two were based on actual World of Warcraft dungeons. Personally, I think League of Explorers was a mistake. The only League of Explorers boss that was actually a World of Warcraft boss is Archaedas (from Uldaman). All other bosses were custom made for Hearthstone and aren’t part of the Warcraft lore. Non-canon.

If the rumors and theories out there become true, and Blizzard releases a Kharazhan adventure, that would be the third Hearthstone adventure based 100% on a World of Warcraft dungeon.

NAXXRAMAS

The Naxxramas adventure had Kel’Thuzad taunting the player throughout the whole adventure which had five wings:

New Hearthstone Adventure Announcement on July 28

It seems Blizzard Entertainment might announce a new Hearthstone adventure at the 2016 ChinaJoy gaming convention, and worldwide via Twitch on July 28 at 11pm PDT (Or July 29 at 2am if you are on the US East Coast). Based on the motif surrounding the invitation’s graphic elements, the rumors might have some weight.

The feather, the cocktail party, and the magical words shown in the invitation might suggest Medivh, and that means Kharazhan and its bosses might be part of the next Hearthstone adventure. What do you think?
