Next Hearthstone Expansion announcement on July 6

Blizzard Entertainment plans to unveil details about the next Hearthstone expansion at the HCT Spring Championships on July 6 at 7:00 pm PDT. Make sure to watch the livestream at the Hearthstone Twitch channel.

The expansion was sorta announced back on February, at least its approximate launch date: Quarter 3. From what you can see below, long before Journey to Un’Goro was announced, the graphic below showed a hint… jungle flora. So the Expansion I flora graphic offered a hint about Un’Goro, since that’s the only location with such wild foliage.

Therefore, if one is to use the Expansion II graphic as a hint of sorts:

1. Glowing runes
2. blue hues

The image evokes three memories: Mages of Dalaran, Dragons (particularly the Aspect of Magic Malygos and the Blue Dragonflight), or Wrath of the Lich King. These are the three known for glowing magical runes.

Hearthstone: No Duplicate Legendary Cards Soon

Hearthstone Game Director Ben Brode announced Hearthstone will soon have significant changes in the next expansion, and one of them is no more duplicates of Legendary Cards when opening card packs.

Additionally, there will be a special limited-time promotion where you get more bang for your buck when buying card packs.

IRVINE, Calif. — Are you seeking adventure and fame with a dash of danger? Azeroth’s finest scholars and explorers have today begun preparing for Journey to Un’Goro™, the new expansion coming to Hearthstone®, Blizzard Entertainment’s smash-hit digital card game, in April. Those brave or at least curious enough to embark on an expedition to a land of primordial wonder will encounter ancient elementals, frightening flora, and some of the fiercest predators to ever inhabit Azeroth—all while unearthing 135 new Hearthstone cards to add to their collections!

Journey to Un’Goro™ takes Hearthstone® players to a land of primordial wonder, filled with ancient elementals, frightening flora, and some of the fiercest predators to ever inhabit Azeroth.

Journey to Un’Goro will take adventurers to the heart of the Un’Goro crater, a prehistoric region of Azeroth preserved in time. Rumor has it that previous explorers left some unfinished business in Un’Goro—daunting quest cards that, should you complete their requirements, grant rewards of monstrous power. It’s also said that the crater’s dinosaurs can adapt to any threat through a newly discovered form of evolution, and can be quite territorial. Though you’ll be tested at every turn, worry not! Your safety is virtually guaranteed … just make sure not to touch anything!

Coming to Windows and Mac PCs; Windows, iOS, and Android™ tablets; and mobile phones, Journey to Un’Goro card packs will be winnable in Hearthstone’s Arena mode and purchasable with in-game gold or real money at the same prices as Hearthstone’s other card packs.

Starting tomorrow and up until the expansion is released, players can pre-purchase Journey to Un’Goro card packs in a special 50-pack bundle, on any platform, for a one-time price of $49.99 (one purchase per account). Eager explorers who pre-purchase this bundle will receive a unique themed card back to help set the proper mood for the upcoming expedition.

Santa Monica, CA – Nov. 10, 2016 – Today, Red Bull Media House announced the second event of this season’s Team Brawl: Hearthstone—a unique invite-only competition featuring Blizzard’s ever-popular digital collectible card game. Fans can tune in and watch professional teams build their card decks, make crucial decisions, and compete to find out who will go home with the grand prize and title of Team Brawl Champion. Team Brawl: Hearthstone takes place November 18-19 and airs on Red Bull eSports channel on November 19.

The two-day competition puts a twist on the typical 1v1 of Hearthstone’s game mechanics—teams are set up 3v3 and mic’d up to assist their teammates. Each team is assigned one 240-card pool with which to construct three 30-card decks (meaning one deck per team member). This time, Team Brawl: Hearthstone will feature a Team Conquest Round Robin Format:

  • Teams blind pick one of their 3 decks for combat against the opposing team
  • Once a deck wins a game, it cannot be used again
  • First team to win with each of their three decks wins the match

Fans can cheer on their favorite professional Hearthstone teams, including returning champions Tempo Storm, Team Liquid, Team Kibler, and Cloud9.
