Beta Opt-in Alert: Last Hearthstone Closed Beta Invites Before Open Beta
Several fans have been invited to Hearthstone Closed Beta and this seems to be the last wave of invites before Open Beta is announced. Now here is the thing … if you opt-in before January 7th, 2014 to the Hearthstone beta, chances are right now as I type this — oh, wait. I guess you lost all interest on my article and loaded your Battle.net Account Page to see if the Hearthstone logo and download link is available. I would generally say, it is rude for you to stop reading while I am in the middle of typing, but I guess by now you are downloading the Hearthstone client and you are too happy to read ramblings. Oh well.
At this point you stopped reading, but maybe it would be uplifting to say that Mike Morhaime plans to make a State of the Union-ish (err) sort of speech on February 6th 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time (4:30 p.m. Eastern Time) during the Activision Blizzard Q4 2013 Financial Results conference call — where there might be a slight chance to hear an approximate date for either open beta or gee a release date? Maybe? Maybe not? Well, only one way to find out. Be sure to check out the conference call details here at Blizzplanet if you are busy at that time.
- The account was opted into the Hearthstone beta test before January 7th.
- The account does not have a Hearthstone license already attached to it as of January 7th.
If your account was successfully flagged for beta access, your account was also sent an email with instructions on how to download and install the game. If you cannot find this email for any reason, please go to your Battle.net Account Management page – The Hearthstone license should be visible under “Summary” – “Your Game Accounts” if your account was flagged for beta access. If your account has not yet been flagged for the beta test, we are still going through all of the accounts and we will provide another update at a later time.
The Battle.net desktop app is required in order to play Hearthstone, so make sure to install the Battle.net desktop app first. If you run into issues with downloading or installing Hearthstone or with the Battle.net desktop app, please visit our Support site for more assistance. — source
