BlizzCon 2017 Hearthstone: What’s Next Panel Transcript

Peter: But monsters aren’t the only scary things down here. There are also some terrible traps. Let’s see one of those.

These are the Crushing Walls. Ben showed this off this morning, and it destroys your opponent’s outermost minions, their left and right-most minion just die. Let’s see that in action. So, they have got the Lich King, and they have got Alexstrasza, and now they have got nothing. Problem solved. It is pretty great.

So, let us see. We have got wandering monsters, carnivorous cubes, crushing walls… alright, that’s pretty mundane. Those are the mundane things in the Kobold and Catacombs. We’ve got some truly horrifying monsters down here. Some things that are so terrible, they require a legendary ritual to unlock. Let’s take a look at Rin.

Rin, the First Disciple. She’s the warlock legendary, and when she dies she sets you on a terrible path. She begins a ritual. You’ll get the First Seal in your hand.

When you break it, you will summon a 2/2 demon, and that’s to gain the Second Seal. Break the second seal, you get a 3/3 demon.

Dave: Sensing a pattern here, Peter.

Peter: Now, you have got the Third Seal, and the Fourth Seal, and the Final Seal.

So now here you are 31 Mana later, and you’ve earned Azari, the Devourer. Let’s take a look.

Battlecry: Destroy your opponent’s deck. Let’s see that in action. So, what we’ve got Azari and they have a deck; and we play Azari and we fixed it. (BOOM) It’s pretty awesome. It’s one of my favorite animations.
